The Windows 8 tablets are coming in November, from a source on Cnet?s website reported. These new Windows tablets are speculated to have the Clover Trail Atom chip which will be the first dual-core Atom design based on the 32-nanometer process technology. There is also some speculation out there that hybrid Windows 8 designs based on higher performing Ivy Bridge processors are expected. There has been a lot of speculation behind the Windows 8 tablets, between the type of processors to the manufactures that are on board with bringing a tablet to the market with the Windows 8 operating system. I have seen a few models from the Lenovo to the Dell and they look good but I still am not sure if they will satisfy the tablet market to the point of competing with the iPad.

Macrumors is reporting that the people at Apple could be making an affordable iPad. The report states this is planned for an October launch. The iPad will be 7 inches and will have the retina display at a modest price of between $200-250.
The report’s source from Macrumors claims that the 7-inch iPad will be “identical in every way” to the current iPad with the exception being the display size, and this will include a Retina display. That would give the smaller iPad a pixel density roughly identical to that of the iPhone 4S.
It remains unclear how Apple would be able to meet a $200-$250 price point for the smaller iPad given the apparent specs, although the device will reportedly come with only 8 GB of storage. Still Apple’s current iPod touch starts at $199 and this smaller iPad will undoubtedly carry significantly higher component costs.
My thoughts on this is Apple is evolving with competition as any good business should. Anyone who buys a Kindle Fire most likely will not own an iPad. So why not try to get this market and crush the competition with the weight iPad has in the brand name alone if I told you that you could own a 7 inch iPad with the features of the bigger one or own a Kindle Fire what would you say? Me personally as much as this pains me to say, I would take the smaller iPad. As far as the cost associated with making the smaller iPad at what most would say could be a significant loss, I am sure they will make it up on the app end as Amazon has and who knows Apple has always been known for allegedly using cheap labor to make this things could they find some even cheaper? Allegedly of course.

In a nonpc study Freewheel shows that the Xbox 360 has a hold on videos. Freewheel, an online video ad company, creates this study but it does come with caveats. Mainly the fact the videos that are being counted is professional content that has ads. So that means it?s counting stuff from companies like NBC, CBS, ESPN and Vevo, but not YouTube cat videos. It?s also not measuring Netflix usage. On the other hand, this isn?t a poll or sample, but data compiled by the company?s own ad servers.
So it?s possible there?s some variance here with the larger Web video world, but it seems reasonable to assume that this is at least directionally correct. At the very least, it gives credence to Microsoft?s claim that Xbox users are spending more time watching videos on the machines than playing games, and that its deals with conventional TV programmers may be bearing fruit.
And it shows you how much ground Google will need to make up as it gets ready to relaunch its Google TV. The same has to be said for Apple, if and when it ever gets serious about transforming Apple TV into something other than a ?hobby.?
So do you own an Xbox 360? Are you watching more videos on the machine or playing more video games. I will be honest lately my 360 has been more of a Netflix and HBO GO player. Although those videos don’t count in this study it is interesting that I haven’t been using it as a gaming console lately.

A modified version of IE9 is being tested on the Xbox 360 platform. It will also include Kinect controls Andy sources say that the Kinect will not be required to run the browser but there will be a nice set of voice commands and of course gestures that can be used. There is no official date for this browser and what type of functionality it will have such as plugs like Microsoft Silver light to be able to watch videos on the browser unlike some video game consoles with a browser in it already. I am looking forward to this browser update and I will keep you updated on this.

Businesses are always trying to find new and inventive ways to get their products into the hands of the consumer. Sometimes these products might be a bit expensive so they need to make some way of offering the product at a reduced rate. In most cases maybe they have a model with lesser features or make you sign a contract that lessens the price but you pay monthly for using the product. Well Microsoft is offering the Xbox 360 4GB at $90 with a 2 year contract. This contract comes with a Kinect, Xbox Live Gold service, and a two year warranty for $15 per month. So the Math is around $460 for over the two years but it is a good deal if you are looking for something less costly upfront, check out the Microsoft Stores to get this great deal.

Reports are coming out from Digitimes that Apple is considering selling a Macbook Air that will retail for $799 and that would be $200 cheaper than the lowest model to date. This would be the cheapest laptop Apple would make to date. The reports are that they considering making this lower model is because of the Ultrabooks which many say is modeled after the Macbook Air. Although food for thought this new Airbook would not be the way Apple does business, one if they are scared of Ultrabooks they are being foolish as they are not selling very well at all. Secondly the $999 Air model is selling very well. Finally Apple typically doesn?t do price cuts in response to the competition. I mean look at the iPhone, it took them forever just to cut the prices of their lower models. There is no true answer to whether or not this Apple Air will be coming out as this has just been reported from Digitimes.
