iTunes 11

iTunes 11

The new iTunes 11 is the most change Apple has made since 2003. Connectivity between iTunes and your libraries has been made faster and more seamless. The Sidebar has been removed, there is now a drop-down button, after you select the media type you now get choices along the top. Expanded view has been added that gives the user more information about music, movies and TV shows. A Miniplayer has also been added. The new iTunes will take a little getting used to but there are nice new features.

John McAfee is in Guatemala after all

Awhile back I wrote a blog about John McAfee and his dispute with his neighbor which was found dead. After the report of the neighbors death John McAfee was nowhere to be found and there was a claim that he had falsified metadata of a photo of him in Guatemala. However it does seem as though he is in fact in Guatemala. He even released a statement about the issue:
?I apologize for all of the misdirections over the past few days. It was not easy to exit Belize and required many supporters in many countries. I am in Guatemala and will be meeting with Guatemalan officials this morning. If all goes well I will do a press conference tomorrow.?
There should be more details coming out about what has happened with McAfee after November 12 which was the day the manhunt started for McAfee as he was noted a ?person of interest? in the murder.

By the start of next year Yahoo is cutting certain services. The biggest drop will be the phone in and phone out service which was a feature in conjunction with Jajah. However if their is an a balance owed to you for prepaid you will have to contact Jajah for the refund. Finally they are also removing interoperability with Microsoft Live Messenger on December 14th. Pingbox and public messenger will also be removed.

Groupon scores a Major deal

In the last couple of days Groupon has had a bunch of negative press. Especially about the CEO and his possible departure. Well it looks like Groupon is making some strong moves to get back to the glory days. Groupon and Major League Baseball has struck a deal with 30 MLB clubs. Now this is going to be through Groupon Live. Some baseball teams have had Groupons before with their tickets and saw some success and now more teams will try their luck. The groupons are going to be deals on seating the 30 mlb stadiums foe specific games based on reports of the deal. So with online tickets like ace tickets, scorebig.com and other sites selling tickets at low cost how likely do you think it will be that when you want to go see your team that you will go to grouponlive for said tickets. Give me your feedback.

Sharp looking for investors

It looks like Sharp is having some finical issues as they are looking at a second straight year of losses at a record pace. Now there have been reports that they have went to Dell and Intel about getting some capital. Now Sharp isn’t the only Japanese electronic companies that have been looking to get some investments. Sony and Panasonic have also been reported to look for some venture capital to get back to core business. So it will be interesting to see.what Sharp gets. Sharp was one.of the industry leaders in television development but not even an industry leader is not safe from this poor world economy.

40 million and counting

40 million and counting

Windows 8 has hit the 40 million licenses sold mark just after the one month anniversary. This news was shared to the media at the Credit Suisse 2012 Annual Technology Conference. Right now it seems that Windows 8 is also outpacing Windows 7 in terms of the upgrades and this is mostly due to how the ease of use in performing the upgrade. The Windows Store is also seeing some decent numbers as it has pasted the $25,000 revenue mark and right now the developers of apps keep 80% of the revenues. So I would start developing for the Windows 8 platform.
