Judges rules: Two news outlets wrongly used photos posted on Twitter.

Agence France-Presse and The Washington Post used copyrighted photos that belonged to Daniel Morel that he took of the Haiti earthquake in January 2010, Distract Judge Alison Nathan ruled. AFP argued that once the pictures were on Twitter that they were freely available, the judge said that Twitter’s terms of service do not give a license to publish the images without Morel’s permission. The judge ruling partially granted morel’s summary judgement motion but limited damages he could recover.
